Inside a Story Theatre Show
A performance children help create
Story Theatre is interactive without requiring elaborate staging. Simple backdrops, props, and occasionally some basic SFX and visual elements help create the world, while voice, body, imagination, and participation remain at the heart of every performance.
The set-up helps bring the story to life and supports children’s imaginations, creating an atmosphere that makes each session immersive and enjoyable.
Each show is built around a carefully chosen story and designed as a complete, interactive experience that can travel to schools, kindergartens, libraries, festivals, and community events.
Every session is different, but the focus is always on connection, imagination, and participation. Depending on the show, children may be invited to:
Make sounds and rhymes
Repeat phrases & chants
Move with the story
Step into a charachter
Predict what happens next
Respond to choices

Post Performance Recources
The story carries on...
Each primary-school Story Theatre show includes a post-story activity or reflective task. Children might discuss a character’s choice, draw or write a response, explore story sequence, or imagine another possibility. The activity can be facilitated after the performance or continued later in class.
Teachers also receive a supporting worksheet or activity sheet. The aim is to give children room to question, interpret and make their own connections.
