Find your voice. Explore your story. Connect with others.
Stories can help us speak, listen, reflect and make sense of our experiences. My adult workshops bring people together through storytelling, voice, movement and guided activities.

Public speaking & storytelling
Find Your Voice with Storytelling
Find your voice. Tell your story. Speak with confidence.
3 hours · No experience required
We all have stories to tell. Sometimes, the hardest part is finding the confidence to begin. Your voice may shake, your thoughts may race, or you may wonder whether what you have to say will interest anyone else.
Find Your Voice with Storytelling is an interactive workshop for adults who want to feel more comfortable speaking and sharing stories with others. Through playful exercises, guided storytelling, breathing and voice work, you can try new ways of expressing yourself in a supportive setting.
We explore voice modulation, projection, expression, body language and presence. We also look at the structure of a compelling story: where it begins, how it develops, and what helps people want to listen. You’ll have opportunities to practise speaking aloud, listen to others and respond to the stories you hear.
The aim is to give you useful tools and room to try them—not to ask you to deliver a polished performance.
What you’ll explore
- Breathing techniques for steadiness and voice
- Voice modulation, projection and expression
- Body language and presence
- Simple ways to manage public speaking nerves
- How to find a story you want to tell
- Story structure and the story arc
- Ways to hold a listener’s interest
- Listening and responding to other storytellers
You’ll leave with practical storytelling frameworks, exercises and prompts in a workshop resource booklet, along with experience speaking and sharing stories in a welcoming group.
This workshop can suit educators, librarians, students, parents, professionals, leaders, creatives and community members. You do not need public speaking or storytelling experience to join.

Story & reflection
Stories That Shape Us
Where ancient stories meet modern lives
3 hours · All cultural backgrounds
Every life is shaped by choices. Some are made freely. Others come under pressure. Some call for courage or sacrifice, and sometimes the most difficult choice is choosing ourselves.
Drawing on the Indian epic Ramayana, Stories That Shape Us explores five defining moments from Sita’s journey. Her experiences open a conversation about love, courage, empathy, resilience, dignity and self-worth.
As each story unfolds, you’ll be invited to pause and consider its connection to your own life. Guided journaling gives you a way to put your thoughts on the page; conversation and storytelling offer opportunities to listen and connect. You do not need to write in a particular style or arrive with a personal story prepared.
Sita’s journey becomes a starting point for exploring your own experiences, values and choices. You do not need to know the Ramayana to take part. The workshop welcomes adults from all cultural backgrounds.
What you’ll take away
- A personal journal of thoughts, memories and insights from the workshop
- Time to reflect on your experiences and choices
- Opportunities to listen, share and connect through story
- A deeper appreciation of storytelling as a way to explore identity and self-expression
- Build confidence to tell your own story and put forward your point
Tailored for your group
Workshops for communities and organisations
I can adapt adult workshops for libraries, community groups, cultural organisations, adult learning programs and professional teams. A group session might focus on finding your voice, personal storytelling, confidence and communication, story and identity, or storytelling for connection.
For teams, storytelling activities offer a way to practise speaking and listening while getting to know one another beyond everyday roles. Tell me about your participants, your setting and what you hope the session will offer, and we can shape a workshop around your group.
In their words
What participants say
“Rohini was such a vibrant and entertaining presenter and so thoughtful and caring when I was struggling with one of the activities. It was lovely to meet the other participants and share in the warm atmosphere of the group. The beautiful handout we were given has so much inspiration in it to keep the momentum going.”
Michelle Endersby
“Rohini’s workshops help to activate voice and creative expression in a safe and supportive environment. Using storytelling, interactive activities and vocal experimentation, Rohini takes participants through a journey of self-exploration by encouraging personal creativity and embracing your unique voice to be heard! Informative, explorative and fun!”

Good to know
Frequently asked questions
I get nervous speaking in front of a group. Is Find Your Voice suitable for me?
Yes. Find Your Voice with Storytelling is designed for adults who want to feel more at ease using their voice. We explore breathing, expression, body language and simple ways to manage speaking nerves, with opportunities to practise in a supportive group. You do not need to arrive feeling confident.
What happens in a storytelling workshop for adults?
You’ll take part in guided activities rather than sit through a lecture. In Find Your Voice, these include voice and breathing exercises, story prompts, listening and speaking practice. In Stories That Shape Us, storytelling leads into reflection, journaling and conversation.
Do I need to be good at public speaking or storytelling?
No. Both workshops welcome beginners. Find Your Voice gives you practical techniques to try; Stories That Shape Us invites you to explore what a story brings up for you. Neither requires performance experience.
Do I have to share a deeply personal story?
You can choose which experiences and ideas you draw on. The activities invite reflection and conversation, but you do not need to disclose something deeply private to participate.
What is reflective writing in Stories That Shape Us?
Reflective writing gives you time to respond to a story and consider its connection to your own experiences, values or choices. Guided prompts help you begin; you do not need to be a writer or prepare anything in advance.
Is Stories That Shape Us a religious workshop?
The workshop draws on five moments from Sita’s journey in the Ramayana. Its focus is on human experiences and personal reflection. You do not need to know the epic or come from a particular cultural background to take part.
Can I book an adult workshop for my team or community group?
Yes. Workshops can be adapted for libraries, adult learning programs, community and cultural organisations, and professional teams. Tell me about your participants, available time and what you hope they’ll gain from the session when you enquire.
