Creative Workshops

Children move from listening to making stories of their own. Through character play, movement, voice and writing, they explore how stories work and practise sharing their ideas.

Choose Story Play for Prep, Voice It Out! for Years 1–2, or Story Makers for Years 3–4.

Good for: class groups, literacy programs and enrichment.

Author Visits

Children hear a book read aloud or performed, then meet the person who wrote it. They can ask where ideas come from, how characters grow and what happens as a story becomes a book.

An author visit can also include a creative storytelling activity.

Good for: reading celebrations and classes exploring how books are made.

Let’s plan your incursion

Share your children’s ages, location and plans. I’ll suggest a session or combination that fits your childcare centre, kindergarten or school. Multiple sessions can be scheduled across a school day.

Sessions are usually 30–60 minutes, depending on age and format.  I’ll confirm any requirements when planning.

Frequently Asked Questions on School incursions

Which storytelling format suits a childcare centre?

An interactive storytelling session or Early Years Story Theatre show is a good starting point. Tell me the children’s ages and your routine so I can suggest a suitable format.

Can you visit several rooms or year levels?

Yes. We can plan multiple sessions during one visit and adapt each one for the children taking part. Some schools also combine different years for children to participate with their buddies.

Can the story connect with our theme?

Yes. Share your theme or celebration when enquiring and we can discuss a story that suits your group.

Do you only perform in Melbourne area?

No. I have travelled across Victoria to perform. I am an international performer and have been invited to perform in international events. I am willing to travel anywhere for a performance.
